I have a very talented friend who does some amazing art and has inspired me to play with watercolors and ink lately. These are my paintings for little Noah :-) I have them in a frame in his room for now, but hope to make a little scrapbook of Mommy's pregnant art for him.

Getting ready for little Noah!
Well it's been forever since I've used this blog, but I figured now that I am having a child, people might like to have a little more updates! :-)
In November Ryan and I found out that we were expecting a little one and time has flown by since then! I am now almost 32 weeks pregnant with only a little over 8 weeks til the due date. For some reason, Ryan and I always thought that we would have a little girl first, but this little guy wouldn't come second to anyone! When we went in for the gender ultra-sound we already had a name picked out for a girl (a couple in fact) but for some reason we could not come up with a boys name. We knew that we would use Charles as a middle name, because it is a family name on both of our sides, but the first name was still up in the air. I love the name Charlie, so I pretty much told Ryan that if we had a boy, it didn't matter what the first name was, I would call him Charlie. Well, he was very quick to show us that he was a BOY! Probably sick of my slip of the tongue "she" and "her" that had kept coming out. It was so wonderful to be able to watch the grainy black and white screen and know that what we were seeing was our little boy! He did lots of tricks for us that day, practically summer-saulting for us on the screen! After watching him, it was no wonder that I started feeling him at 14 weeks!
After the ultra sound we went upstairs to wait to see Dr. Hawes. In the waiting room we reviewed some of the names that we had tossed around for a first name and as soon as we said Noah Charles, we knew that was it! I have to give kudos to little Sarah for that one, she came up with that name the day she found out that I was pregnant. We had liked it before, but it didn't click like it did when we said it there in the waiting room. So before we even saw the Dr. we knew, his name is Noah Charles Jevne. Even now, it brings tears to my eyes (though, I suppose a lot of things do that for me lately) to know with such certainty that that is who he is. He's not Charlie either, he's Noah, and I love it!!
So back to the present! We now have the nursery about ready for him, and I have promised some pictures, so here they are!
From the doorway to the room first, then turning to the right. Then from the right corner by the closet.
A couple months ago Ryan was going through some boxes, after we moved and found a couple things from his room as a boy, a poem about little boys and a little porcelain figurine. So we picked up these little shelves at the craft store to put them on and Ryan painted them to match the room. We added the spoon and egg which we got on our "getaway" to Waynesville, just as sweet little trinkets for him. We also picked up the Willow Tree figure there as well which sits on a cabinet in his room.
My mom bought us a bedding set for his room when we found out what we were having that matched out theme, "Starry Night". We have always loved Van Gough's starry night painting and have a futon with throw pillows of the print on it. Well, when we moved, we had to put the futon in the Baby room for Sarah to sleep on when she stays the night, and since it was a little boy, we thought it would all tie in nicely to have stars and moons in the room. Since then the shape of a star has become our symbol for little Noah!
I finally caved in and splurged on a glider chair a couple weekends ago that I found on craigslist. It ended up costing twice as much because I had to replace the cushions, but it was still at least half the price of a new one. When I asked the woman who was selling it if she smoked or had pets, she said "No" but once I had it enclosed in my car for a couple blocks, it was obvious that she had not been entirely truthful...It smelled AWFUL!! When I got it home we decided to try and wash the cushions to see if we couldn't get the smell out. Big mistake. Not only did the cushions practically dissintegrate, the washer and whole apartment smelled like stale cigarettes for 2 days!! Thank goodness for Scentsy, or it would have been unbearable! So Ryan and I went out and bought new foam and some fabric that matched the room and I made some new ones! They are not perfect, but I love the chair all the more now after putting that work into it! :-) Here it is, with a pillow from my mom's bedding set that ties it in perfectly! The Pound Puppy is "Cocoa", who was Ryan's as a child and "Lamby" was Noah's Christmas gift from our good friends the Argalls!
Whew!! That is a long blog entry, but it has been a while!
I should be better about keeping up from here on out!
